The Riding School at Horse Creek Farm teaches Hunter/Jumper riding lessons with a strong focus on Equitation.
Early lessons for beginners will cover the basics of catching, leading, grooming, and tacking up safely and correctly. Students will learn to walk, trot, and canter while steering and being able to rate their horse or pony's pace.
Equitation is introduced in the very first lessons to show that form follows function and mastering the basics is paramount to advancing the student's riding.
More advanced students will have jumping lessons with introduction to courses and gymnastic exercises.
Riders who do not own their own horse are mounted on experienced, proven school horses, many of which are retired show horses. To continue their progress, Horse Creek Farm riders may eventually lease or purchase their own horse.
At this time, HCF school horses include small, medium and large ponies. Therefore, we can only accept adults and riders over 145lbs that have their own horses.
